You can also set the length of time in between when Word saves AutoRecover data. Minor irritation because opening files from the local OneDrive folder with autosave on (so you had a choice whether to use autosave or not) was good but I guess it is not the end of the world. Uncheck the box for Save AutoRecover information every x minutes if you wish to disable the AutoRecover feature. Probably the files seen on the PC are actually the online OneDrive files rather than locally saved files. Autosave does work on my Window PCs - any file opened comes up with autosave on. As to why autosave appeared for the local Office 365 OneDrive files and then disappeared after the Mojave update, I have no idea and it appears no one else does. Not a big drama as you can always open and work on the online file (or choose you local file) through File>open. It will automatically update to the online OneDrive after each manual save and reflect the file history. If opening a local Mac OneDrive file you need to save the file periodically as we all did before OneDrive came on the scene. Autosave only works when you open the file through your online OneDrive and not through the local OneDrive file saved to your Mac.
